Today I am hopeful the full Privileges & Elections Committee will bring the ERA back to the table at 9:30AM.

I am troubled that the ERA passed in the Virginia Senate and died in the House Privileges & Elections Subcommittee #1, a subcommittee with 6 people: 5 men, 4 Republicans, and 1 woman.

I find (R) Del. Mark Cole, as chair, & (R) Del. Margaret Ransone's words & actions to be damaging, to neglect to let the bill reach the floor of the house, after it passed through the Senate.

Additionally, I would like to commend the Senate Republicans who did vote to pass SJ284, allowing HJ 577, the ERA amendment, to go through and be voted on.

Here is more clarity on the votes:

SENATE SJ284: ERA AMENDMENT

14 - NAY: Black, Carrico, Chafin, Chase, Cosgrove, McDougle, Newman, Obenshain, Peake, Reeves, Ruff, Stanley, Stuart, Suetterlein

House Privileges and Elections Subcommittee #1
